Office Renovation at Kari Ryan Dentistry

Kari Ryan Dentisry renovated their office during COVID including a state-of-the-art operatories and a sterilization as well as an updated lab.

Dr. Kari Ryan decided to expand and remodel her office in Mount Pleasant because she “wanted to have a truly wonderful work environment for [the] team and an exceptional dental experience for [the] patients.” To accomplish this admirable task, Dr. Ryan knew she needed more space and “nicer” facilities. “Since I purchased this practice 10 years ago, we have been growing ever since, and we outgrew our space almost immediately. To set ourselves up properly for a successful and happy future, expanding the practice was a must.”

With Dr. Ryan and her staff spending “a lot of hours in the office,” she wanted to equip them with what they need to serve patients and to be more comfortable in their work space. After renovations, that hardworking staff is now equipped with state-of-the-art operatories and a sterilization center, an updated lab to make same-day crowns, a “gorgeous” lunch room and even a workout room. “I want everyone to be excited to be there.”

Dr. Ryan’s office offers general dentistry, implant, cosmetic and restorative dentistry, as well as snoring and sleep apnea treatments. Dr. Kristi Dillard is also a member of the practice.

“I love our corner lot, nestled in the tall trees off of Mathis Ferry and close to many neighborhoods, expansion, from 1,500 square feet to 3,500 square feet, with three new patient operatories, a new reception area and more computer workstations.

“Our architect, Losse Knight, did an amazing job of flowing our existing space with the new addition and incorporating lots of windows for natural light and tree views. Our builders, Ferrara Buist Contractors, had the complicated job of executing the project as we continued to see patients and keep the office open. It was a long year of construction, but the beautiful end result has been worth all of the headaches. At this point, I feel like if we could survive construction and COVID, we can survive anything.”

She added, “I can’t say how much this project means to me, as it has been my and my family’s blood, sweat and tears for the last few years. My children, ages 9 and 6, have spent the majority of their weekends in the practice in the last year, stripping walls and moving computers with me. My brother designed and built wooden signs for the building, and my dad put together endless bookshelves and furniture. Most importantly, my husband, JB, oversaw the project and ensured its success. I am profoundly proud of all our efforts, and I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful team to work with, providing high quality care to our amazing patients…now in such beautiful facilities.”
